Things start getting a wee bit crazy towards 3 and 4. Remember, legibility still matters. Must you treat all bits of text the same? Did you consider reflecting the content of the text with your composition? Just an idea.
You've used Gill Sans, not Helvetica/Arial...any reason?
1 is the most successful. 2 is close, but is unbalanced and inconsistent (even if it IS consistent, it doesn't look that way due to the differences in text blocks).
Be careful changing the orientation of type, it messes with legibility a fair bit and should probably be reserved for titles/subtitles rather than body.
